Service Description

Prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen® test with a structured five-week group dog training course at Found Chicago. This course is available to graduates of Found Training Center and Pup Start training programs, as well as existing Found clients. During four weeks of guided preparation, you and your dog will practice the 10 skills evaluated on the CGC test, including: - Accepting a friendly stranger - Sitting politely for petting - Accepting grooming and handling - Walking calmly on a loose leash - Walking through a crowd - Sit, down and stay - Coming when called - Remaining composed around another dog - Responding appropriately to distractions - Supervised separation from the handler The course strengthens practical obedience, confidence, handler communication and the everyday manners dogs need at home and in public. Your Found trainer will help identify areas that need additional practice and provide coaching to prepare you and your dog for testing. Course format: Weeks 1–4: Guided preparation and coached practice Week 5: AKC Canine Good Citizen test Eligibility: Graduates of Found Training Center and Pup Start training programs, and existing Found clients only.
